Golf courses for developers

This page is golf course data for software developers building an app, not golf-course real estate. The JSON is a golf course data API you use to build a golf app: free search, scorecard, GPS polygons (tees, fairways, bunkers, penalty areas, hole outlines, greens), 3D green slope, and live lie elevation.

Enough to download a few courses and try it out. We’ll send your API access within 1 business day.

What the JSON actually returns

You do not get a CSV of club addresses. You get live JSON on the same course records the rest of the product uses. Search is free (0 credits). Full course detail is 3 credits and includes the scorecard plus GPS. Green slope and elevation images are 1 credit each. Lie elevation is live on the geohash endpoint — not a screenshot of a hole.

Search + scorecard

POST search is free. Store publicId. Multi-tee scorecards sit on the course group: hole-by-hole par, yardage, and handicap. 27- and 36-hole clubs stay one course group — we do not flatten them.

GPS polygons + greens

Tees, fairways, bunkers, penalty areas, hole outlines, and greens as mapped shapes. Pair that with 3D green slope (image URL plus geometry) and live lie elevation so a rangefinder, caddie, or sim can put a golfer on the hole.

First three calls — token exchange, free search, hydrate — are on /docs/. The searchable catalog is the golf course database. Own-game builders start at personal golf app. Facts for assistants: for AI. The Golf Wire piece is the earned source.

How the layers are mapped

Twenty years of proprietary golf course data. Collected by laser scan, drone, airplane, and satellite — highest quality available by course. Ten people on staff map courses every day. Daily course updates around the world since 2007. That is why an app can ask for bunker polygons and green slope on a live course instead of guessing from a photo.

If the thing you are building is an agent that has to step through a hole — not just draw one — see golf course AI world models.

Personal vs Starter

Test credits are $49 for 50. After 50, email data@golfintelligence.com. Credits are added in the console after payment. Personal is one natural person, own game — dedicated page /personal-golf-app/. If other people will use the app, that is Starter at $399/month for 10,000 credits on API pricing. Live-golfer use: digital in-app, on-course, wearable, and sim. Cache a specific course on a device for up to one year. No A–Z catalog dump. No training on the dataset (terms).

Questions developers ask

Golf course data for software developers

Where do developers get golf course data?

From the Golf Intelligence public JSON API. Search is free. Then hydrate a course: scorecard, GPS polygons (tees, fairways, bunkers, penalty areas, hole outlines, greens), 3D green slope, and live lie elevation on the same records. Twenty years of proprietary data collected by laser scan, drone, airplane, and satellite — highest quality available by course. Ten people on staff map courses every day. First three calls: /docs/. Catalog: golf course database. Earned source: Golf Wire.

Is this for real-estate developers?

No. Software developers building an app. This is not golf-course real estate, land, or club acquisition.

Personal vs Starter?

Personal is one person, own game. See /personal-golf-app/. If other people will use the app, that is Starter at $399/month for 10,000 credits — /api-pricing/. Test credits are $49 for 50. After 50, email data@golfintelligence.com. Credits are added in the console after payment.
