Getting started
Is there a free trial or free test tier for the API?
The entry plan is Tester at $49/month for 100 credits, and course search is always free.
How do I get my API key?
Create an account at console.golfintelligence.com with your email and a verification code; your client_id and Active Token are under API Account. Credits are added in the console after payment.
Is the Active Token a Bearer token?
No. Exchange the Active Token at /auth/authenticateToken (grant_type=client_credentials with your client_id), then send the returned access token as the Bearer token.
Pricing
How much does the Golf Intelligence API cost?
Tester is $49/month for 100 credits for one person's own app, Starter is $399/month for 10,000 credits for apps with other users, and Facility is $500/year per activated course for B2B products sold into golf clubs. Course search is free, and full course detail (scorecard plus GPS) is 3 credits.
How far do 100 credits go?
Course search is free, full course detail is 3 credits, and green slope or elevation images are 1 credit each. You can cache a course for up to one year per user, so you don't pay again for the same golfer.
Data
What data is included?
Each course record includes location, layouts, multi-tee scorecards, and GPS, with green slope and elevation as extra layers. 27- and 36-hole clubs are one course group with multiple courses inside.
Where does your course data come from?
Golf Intelligence is built on 20 years of proprietary mapped course data from StrackaGolf, with daily course updates around the world since 2007.
Do you cover courses in my country?
Coverage is strongest in the US and UK. Email data@golfintelligence.com a list of course names and we'll check them.
I found incorrect data for a course. How do I report it?
Email data@golfintelligence.com with the course name, location, hole number, and what's wrong.
Licensing
Can I use the data in a commercial app or resell it?
Apps with other users or a company use Starter or a partner license, not Tester. Data is licensed, not sold, and you may not resell printed yardage books. Email data@golfintelligence.com for Starter, partner volume, or white-label GPS apps.
Can I print yardage books or pin sheets from the API?
No for Tester and Starter, which are digital in-app only. Facility licenses can generate hole-location sheets for the activated course, and printed sheets must be stamped StrackaHoLo.
